CloseClinical provides not only a portal of news and articles about health informatics, but also a discussion forum. More over, it has a vast directory of useful links and addresses, jobs and books.

CloseClinical is a free website which aims to connect students, scientists, doctors, engineers and industrials interested in biomedical informatics to each other. Subscription is free and without engagement. It allows you to access many more functions such as participating in forums, making job inquieries, and advertising for your software.

As a post graduate student of medical informatics, I was interested to know about projects, products, and services in my field of study. Many scientific websites such as those of healthl informatics associations or http://www.openclinical.org provide information about past and ongoing scientific projects. However, many scientific projects never get out of universities to be deployed in real life, and on the other hand, many successful scientific projects are accomplished by the industry without passing through universities.

I was also interested in finding companies and people who are interested in health informatics or who work on it in my region. Unfortuanely, finding this information was not easy, because of many reasons:

• Health informatics is rather a new science and many people don't even know what it is about.
• A lot of successful healthl informatics projects are accomplished by people who did not officially graduated from a medical informatics or bioinformatics course!
• Many projects in this field are done in universities as academic work; and as a result, they are not advertised.
• Companies which are involved in medical informatics and bioinformatics are either very small - therefore they are still unknown-  or very big - and therefore they are known for more general fields that they cover, such as software development or medical devices.

That's why I decided to make this website. Me objective is to provide a portal which would allow students, scientists, doctors, engineers and users of medical informatics and bioinformatics to find products, services, and jobs. My secondary objective is to facilitate connections between specialists, companies, and fans of medical informatics and bioinformatics.

If you want to participate, please send my a message, or just register. Being registered allows you to participate in the forum, find people, write reviews on a special topic or software, and even advertise your product.
